Re-watched the TVD Pilot

So the first words spoken on this show are by Stefan and he ends with this is my story… is it really? Though this does fit with my theory that Elena dies at the end of this series and that Stefan is using their diaries to explain about their lives in Mystic Falls. Maybe to the new Petrova Doppelganger? Or he’s just reliving it?
Then my next thought is that maybe Elena’s in a coma after the accident and this is what’s going on in her head.
Can Damon no longer ~~turn into a~~ control the crow because his diet has changed? Is it the same with the fog? Right now both Salvatores seem to no longer drink straight from the source (which I would assume is the best for their vampire health). And yet Damon was able to save Matt from Kol. Though Elena did head butt Rebekah and she’s a lowly doppelganger.
Stefan writes in his diary so he doesn’t forget which is why he’s no longer writing in his diary. He’s hoping he forgets about this time in his life but that’s a lie. I think he knows it too.
where do i belong? I don’t think anyone in Mystic Falls has this figured out.
Notice that everyone’s pretty boo-hoo about their life and Bonnie’s just matter fact about her grandmother being an alcoholic? We’re not even touching on the fact that her father is never around and that her mother abandoned her.
