I don’t make excuses for him and I still ship it. 

Which would mean this post isn’t addressed to you, right? So why are you talking to me about losing you? If you can acknowledge in your first sentence that there are people trying to shine a selfless light on what Damon did, then why wouldn’t you think this post is addressed to them? I made this post because I saw something in the Bonnie tag that broke the camel’s back. Should I have linked it just so we’d all know, since my words weren’t enough, that this wasn’t directed at all of the shippers?

 Like it’s okay to not ship it but to make a pointed remark about people that do isn’t conducive to any sort of discussion. 

I’m not making a pointed remark about the ones that do, I’m making a pointed remark about the ones that do and are trying to flip this into something Damon did with Bonnie in mind like he was looking out for her. Do you see the two people in this post saying what Damon did was selfless? Those are the people I’m talking to.

What is the point of this factoid? You plus Kat thanking you for pointing it out? What, because I shipped it once that means I can’t talk about what I think of it now? Or should I put a note saying “I used to ship it” on every post I make wrt Bamon? Shipping it in the past doesn’t actually mean anything now aside from me getting nostalgic when I see a well-time .gif from season 1 or 2. Back when I shipped it, Damon wasn’t running around flipping coins over Bonnie’s life or killing her mother with his biggest concern being how long Elena will hate him for it. I stopped shipping it very soon after he said he’d choose Elena over Bonnie every time which is why it wasn’t a big shock to me when he lived up to his word. Damon contradicts himself but that’s no reason to not take what he says seriously.

 I think what the OP is trying to say is that some people who are making excuses for Damon or trying to analyze the situation in a way to favor Bamon takes away from the act itself.

Look, the comment still stands as a critic on bamon shippers. Not specific bamon shippers but all bamon shippers and that was the only reason I responded. If you only meant to discuss specific shippers than you didn’t need to write it. What was the purpose of adding it besides letting us all know how better you are for not still shipping it? 

You can say the intention wasn’t there but your response reads like it was. And that’s really all I have to say about this. I did write a long ass post but I am just tired of being angry with posts having to do with this show and this fandom. Especially with people that I do enjoy seeing on my dash.
